Designer Alliance (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit designeralliance.com (the “Site”) or otherwise interact with us — for example, through our contact form, “Join the Movement” inquiries, or newsletter sign-up.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us directly, such as when you:
- Submit an inquiry through our Contact or “Join the Movement” form
- Request materials, catalogs, or collection information
- Sign up for our newsletter or mailing list
- Correspond with us by email
This may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, company or firm name, and any message content you submit. If you sign up for our newsletter, your email address (and related engagement data, such as opens and clicks) is collected and processed through Klaviyo, our email service provider.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we (and our service providers) may automatically collect:
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, time spent on pages, and referring/exit pages
- General geographic location (city/region level, inferred from IP address)
We do not collect payment or financial information, as the Site does not process transactions.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and fulfill requests for materials, catalogs, or collection information
- Communicate with designers, firms, and partners about our collections and events
- Send marketing communications, such as updates on new collections or events (with your consent, where required)
- Maintain and improve the Site’s content, functionality, and user experience
- Understand aggregate visitor trends via analytics
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may share information with:
- Service providers who perform services on our behalf, including Klaviyo, our email marketing and newsletter platform, which processes your email address and engagement data (opens, clicks) to help us send you communications; website hosting providers; and analytics providers
- Professional advisors (legal, accounting) where necessary
- Authorities or third parties where required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Klaviyo processes this information under its own privacy policy, available at klaviyo.com/privacy.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and understand how it’s used:
- Essential cookies – needed for basic Site functionality
- Analytics cookies – we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate visitor behavior (pages viewed, time on site, approximate location, device type)
- Marketing/email cookies – if you sign up for our newsletter or click a link in one of our emails, Klaviyo may place a cookie or use tracking pixels to record that you visited the Site, which pages you viewed, and how you engage with our emails, so we can tailor future communications
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email, or by contacting us directly. You can disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some Site functionality.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications or otherwise maintain an active relationship with us — for example, as a newsletter subscriber or ongoing inquiry contact. If you unsubscribe or request that we delete your information, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time (via the unsubscribe link in our emails, or by contacting us directly)
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your information
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@designeralliance.com. Residents of certain U.S. states (such as California) may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws.
8. Future Communication Channels
We currently communicate with subscribers by email only. If we introduce additional channels in the future (such as text/SMS messaging), we will obtain your separate consent before enrolling you, and this Policy will be updated to reflect those practices.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., partner organizations like ASID or NYSID, designer portfolios, social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
