BY Martyn Lawrence Bullard

A garden in Queensland taught this piece how to move. Deep in its botanical grounds sits an aviary of exotic birds, many free to travel from cage to cage, filling the air with color and unhurried flight. The memory is not of a single bird but of motion itself: light and life passing through a green room that never quite holds still.
