BY Martyn Lawrence Bullard
A garden in Queensland taught this piece how to move. Deep in its botanical grounds sits an aviary of exotic birds, many free to travel from cage to cage, filling the air with color and unhurried flight. The memory is not of a single bird but of motion itself: light and life passing through a green room that never quite holds still.
Antiqued mirror glass in a shaped unlacquered brass frame, with a single brass bird perched on the lower edge. A companion to the Maleny cage pendant, designed by Martyn Lawrence Bullard, 36″ tall and 24″ wide.
